Water Distribution in the House

First, the cold water enters the main pipe of the house's water distribution from its source deep in the ground. Then it is distributed to the cold water tank and water taps of bath, wash basin, and toilet in the second floor and also into water tap of sink on the first floor. After it water enters the cold water tank, it goes straight into the hot water tank and changes into hot water. Finally it is distributed to water taps of bath and wash basin on the second floor and water tap of sink on the first floor.

Plaza Senayan

Located next to the newly built STC, Ratu Plaza, and the adjacent Gelora Bung Karno, Plaza Senayan has been well-known among teenagers and people who live in South Jakarta. The 3-storey building with a large atrium in the center routinely accommodates exhibitions such as cars, fashion, computers, and gadgets. The atrium also houses a landmark cuckoo clock, Maryland, that has 6 musical figures that rotates and play hourly. This mall has two rival chain department stores as its anchor tenants lie on the opposite ends of the buildings. Many restaurants and cafes are spread on the second and third level ranging from international to local chains.

Sewage Disposal Unit

Extracting the sewage for entering the river goes through three stages. First, the sewage from main sewer enters the settling tank. On the settling tank, the sewage is settled so it separated into two kinds of form, the liquid one, polluted water, and the solid one, undecayed solids, which is then removed and burned. Second, the polluted water is pumped by the pump house to enter the sprinkler beds. In the sprinkler beds, the rotating arms to be filtered by stones and microorganisms on the brickwork spray the polluted water out. Then, the water is purified and ready to enter the river.

Debus Art

There is a unique art in my hometown, Pandeglang. This art called debus. Debus art is one of the arts that comes from Banten Province, the province where Pandeglang is located. Debus art is an art that really different with other arts. It is not a dance, ceremony or something beautiful to see. Actually debus art is very dangerous. Debus art shows the abilities of its players about their body resistance. Example, in their show, they use knife, sword and other sharp tools then stab those to their part of bodies, like tongue, hand, neck and stomach. Also, they use sulphuric acid and pour it to their bodies. The strange thing is they don’t get injury at all when they do this art. What an ‘art’! . Is it real or is there a mystic thing works on debus art? I don’t know exactly. But the players on debus art are only certain people who have a tough belief to do this dangerous art and before they begin the show, they always do some ritual for their safety.

Water Distribution

In this house, there are two tanks of water, cold water tank and hot water tank. There are also four places that have to be distributed by those tanks of water, bathtub, wash basin, toilet, and sink. First, cold water tank as the main water tank, distributes the cold water into those four places (bathtub, wash basin, toilet, and sink) and also into the hot water tank. In hot water tank, the cold water from cold water tank is changed to be hot water, and then it distributes hot water to three places, bath, wash basin, and sink. So, cold water tank distributes the cold water directly to bathtub, wash basin, toilet, and sink. And the hot water tank gets the water from cold water tank and changes the water to be hot water before distributes to bathtub, wash basin, and sink.

Methan from Household Waste

Methane is a chemical compound that can be extracted from household waste. The process to extract methane starts with mixing the waste with water and stores it into the warming bed. When it reaches a certain temperature, methane will separate it self from the other compound of waste. While the waste can be use as a fertilizer, methane is transferred into the dirt trap. Here, a cap under the methane is open periodically so that the dirt that is still in the methane can be discarded. After the methane is clean of dirt, it is than piped into a Gas Indicator Unit. Here, the methane is mixed with water. When the gas indicator reaches a certain temperature and pressure, methane develops into gas. (The bubbles in water indicate that there is gas). When the gas rises it is then piped into the gas holder. Here the methane is stored for further use. When ever needed the methane can be used by just opening the holder’s tap.

Patin Curry

If you visited Pekanbaru you will find in many restaurants a dish called Patin Curry or in Indonesia called Gulai Ikan Patin. It is a specialty in this city and even in the Province of Riau. The main ingredient of Patin Curry is of course patin fish, coconut milk, curry powder and a little bit of spice. These main ingredients with other ingredients are than boiled until it is thick enough. This dish is very delicious and a unique taste with a mixture of the taste of coconut milk, spice and a little of sour. You really can’t describe the taste of this dish. So whenever you visited Pekanbaru, don’t forget to try it.

Water Distribution

Water distributions in all houses are relatively the same. Water is distributed from the main source into all parts of the house by pipes that are hidden in the floor and the walls of the house. Because of the different location of the facilities that needs water, to fight the gravity pressure, the water is pumped using a special machine. While cold water can directly distribute, warm or hot water can’t. The main source that only contains cold water than send parts of the water into a heater. Here the water is heated to a certain temperature. It is then piped into parts of the house. In every tap where hot water goes trough is a temperature box. This is used to arrange the temperature that comes out of the taps.

Sewage Disposal Unit

Sewage mostly contains potentially dangerous substances which can cause pollution if it is thrown away into the river directly without any purifying process. Sewage can lower the water quality in the river and create a hazard to public health. Therefore, sewage had to be processed in order to make the potentially dangerous substances less dangerous.

The process of purifying sewage is very simple to understand. There are three main places of treatment which hold three main process of purifying sewage, which are the settling tank, the pump house, and the sprinkler beds. In the first step, the sewage enters the settling tank through a main sewer. In the settling tank, after a several while, the undecayed solids will settle in the bottom of the settling tank, for then be removed and burned. The rest of the sewage will be absorbed into the pump house. From the pump house, the sewage will enter the sprinkler beds. There, the filtration process is hold. The sewage from the pump house will be sprayed by the rotation arm into the brick work which contains stones and microorganisms as the filter media. Rocks are one of the recommended media for sewage filtration because it do not fragment or soften on exposure to sewage. Microorganisms, in the other hand, adsorb nutrient from the sewage as food. Finally, after the process of filtration is finish, the purified water can enter the river.

Sewage Disposal Process

Sewage disposal process consists of three steps. They are settling, pumping, and sprinkling. First, the sewage which comes from the main sewer is passed to the settling tank. In the settling tank, the sewage is separated into polluted water and undecayed solids. The undecayed solids will then be removed and burned. After this separation, the polluted water will be pumped to the pump house. Then, the polluted water, which has been pumped, flows to the sprinkler beds which have jets of polluted water that lay on the brick work. The jets of polluted water are pipes which have rotating arms. Moreover, the jets of polluted water filter the polluted water from stones and micro-organism. After the filtration, the water which has been purified is now entering the river.

Extracting Methane Gas

Firstly, waste is put into the warming bed. In this bed, it is separated into 2 parts; the mixture of methane and the fertilizer. The mixture of methane is flowed to the dirt trap. Then it will be separated into methane and dirt, and releases cap. Next, the methane is directed to the gas indicator throughout the sealed top. In this container, it can be noticed as bubbles of methane in water. Afterwards, the methane is continued to the pressure release which has the top open to air. This container contents water and access gas when pressure high. Then, the methane is continued to the gas holder which has inner tubes and weight to increase gas pressure. Finally, after all of the processes have been done, the pure methane is produced and flows throughout the tap.

water circulation

Generally water from the ground is absorbed by the main pipe of the watering system. The main pipe divided to two pipes, pipe to the sink on the first floor and pipe to second floor. On the second floor the pipe divided to two main pipes. Actually the pipe that watering the first and second floor is cold water, so the water in the first main pipe on second floor flow to the cold water tank. This tank is save all the water that absorbed from the ground, this is the first step of watering all the room in the house. Water from the cold water tank divided into two groups. First, flow to the hot water tank, this tank used to boil the water from the cold water tank, and the water from the tank spread to be used in all room in the house. The second group, the water from the cold water tank directly spread to all room without boiled first.

The Process to Producing Methane Gas

Methane gas is extracted from household waste. This waste goes through several stages to producing methane gas. First of all, the waste is thrown into warming bed to be heated with the result that it will produce hot gas. Then, the hot gas rises to the top of warming bed and flows along the pipe that connected to dirt trap. In the dirt trap, the dirt that contained in the gas is precipitated. After the precipitation, the gas flows along the other pipe that ends in the water that put in the vessel with sealed top. In this stage, we can see the methane bubbles flying in the water. Then, the methane rises to the air in the vessel and flows into the pipe. This pipe is divided into two ways. First pipe goes to the inner tubes that equipped with the weight to increase the pressure. As the result, the methane is ready to use by opening the tap. Other pipe is used for excess gas when pressure high. This pipe ends in the water that put in the vessel with its top open to air.

Sewage Disposal Unit

Sewage disposal unit on figure 2 has three stages to purify the polluted water from the sewer. The first stage, called 'Settling Tank', is a place that settled for the polluted water from the main sewer. The polluted water will formed sediment there; so that the polluted water will be separated with the solids content in it. Later on, the undecayed solids will be removed and burned while the polluted water continue the process into the next stages. The second stage is a pump house that just pumping in the polluted water from the settling tank and distribute it into the springkler beds. On this final stage, the polluted water will be directed to the rotating arms. Later, the polluted water will be emitted into the air. Then the rest that falls down will be filtered of stones and microorganisms to yield the purified water that is save to enter the river.

Waste as a national problem

Waste is a public problem, and now even is getting larger to become a nation problem. One of the best solution to this problem is making an efficient waste disposal system. Our disposal system is not bad though, the main problem is could be the people and the community which are irresponsible to the environment.

Waste disposal itself has a complex system until it can be distribute back to the river. Water on river should be clean and hygiene. People obtain water from river for many use. Whenever the water is dirty, it can be dangerous for their health. Government must pay attention for this water usage by providing a waste disposal system before used water reach river. Clean and dirty water are meet at the settling tank. Here, all of the solid waste are removed and burned, the solid waste are usually drown at the bottom. At the end of this settling tank, there is a pipe to flow the water to the pump house. The function of this pump house is to pump the water outside and distribute it to the sprinkler beds. Water is having much of sanitation on this part. Before it reach river, the water must pass through all part of the sanitation system on sprinkler beds, this part is filled with brick and filter of stones and microorganisms.

Water Distribution

Water distribution in our house has to be made in a very simple way and well planned. Principally, water comes from the main pipe, which then distributed into various facilities in and outside the house that need water, through different branches of pipes. Water needs inside the house are sink, bathtub or shower, toilet and washbasin, and outside the house are garden watering and car washing. People who want hot water facility in their house (mostly in the bathroom) will need cold and hot water tank. Cold-water tank is needed for supplying water to the hot water tank to produce hot water. It also could be use as water saving in emergency case when there is no water supply from the main pipe.

Model Essay

Examination not assessment

In the past two decade, the use of formal examinations has become less frequent in many countries. The educational systems in some societies however are still dominated by formal examinations. I believe that, to a certain extent, examinations can give an unfair assessment of a student’s ability. Even thought examination result has been used extensively as a means of assessment in the past, there are times when they do not appear to reflect a student’s ability accurately.

Firstly, examinations can be unfair in several ways. For example, that whole career of a candidate depends upon what he or she does on a certain day and hour of an exam. If the candidate is ill, or if he or she has had some emotional trauma, these factors could have a negative effect on the student’s exam results. Furthermore, some students do not perform well under pressure and require a longer time to reach useful conclusions. Even though they may have studied diligently and know the subject matter thoroughly their performance does not reflect their ability. For these students, examinations appear to be unfair.

Yet, some people believe that examinations make people work hard. They assume that in order to do well, students need to work throughout the course as they know they will have to prove themselves at the end.

However, in many ways, exams have the opposite effect; some candidates merely cram so that they can perform quickly for the demands of the tests. Other forms of assessment such as course work and oral presentations are a more accurate reflection of how hard students work. In the assessment of their ability, students diligence, initiative, deductive reasoning and organizational skills are considered, which are important indicators of ability but are rarely tested in a formal examination.

In conclusion, even though formal examinations have been used in the past, they should no longer be used as the only means of assessment because they can be an unfair indication of the student’s overall ability. In the long term, other less formal means of assessment such as course work or oral presentations are a more useful indicator of the skills required in adult life and, therefore, a more accurate indication of a student’s ability.

extracting methane gas

Extracting methane gas from household waste

Methane gas is one of the residue, or gas that resulted from a chemical process. To extract this gas, we have to through so many processes, first, waste from household is colleted or kept in a place called warming bed. In this container, waste is change into methane, and the rest is released as a benefical composition called fertilizer. Then fertilizer can be used for plant to grow up. Second, the methane from warming bed go to the dirt trap. In this container, methane through a process that makes the methane is separated between the dirt and the methane itself, the dirt then released through a release cap, while the methane continues its journey passes the pipes to the next stop.

The next stop, or the third step is gas indicator, where the methane is dissolved in water and change into methane bubbles. In this place, there is a sealed top in order to keep the methane stay in the tube. The fourth step is pressure release. In this process, methane is extracted into gases. There is excess gas when the pressure high. Methane got certain pressure and temperature, that caused the excess of gas. The last process is Gas Holder. It is in form of inner tube, which has a weight to increase gas pressure, gas from the tube then released through the tap and became “methane gas”. This gas is safety and has less toxic than the waste from household.

Sekaten

SEKATEN

Sekaten is a particular ceremony that held every year to memorize the birth of prophet Muhammad. Sekaten is one of the most precious moment in Yogyakarta, which is held in “Maulud Month”, the month when prophet Muhammad was born. It is usually held on date 5-12 in Maulud Month, the third month in moeslem calendar. At about one month before sekaten ceremony is started, there is a kind of “night park” in the North Alun – alun ( a very large park in Yogyakarta). The most important part in Sekaten is called “Grebeg Maulud”, which is held exactly in the 12th of Maulud Month.

The festival is started at 7.30 in the morning, begins with the parade of ten troopers from “Keraton”. They bring a thing called “Gunungan”. Gunungan is a group of foods like vegetables, peanuts, red chilli, eggs that arranges in a shape like mountain that represents the whealthy and welfare of Mataram (Kingdom in Yogyakarta). The Gunungan is Brought from North side of Keraton and Kemandungan into “Pagelaran” in North Alun–alun. When the Gunungan and the troopers arrived, they are welcomed with “Tembakan Salvo” and Troopers’ shout,. The procession is called “Garebeg”, taken from java’s “Brebeg” or “Gumerebeg”, which means crowded sound made by spectators’s shout.

Gunungan, then brought to “Masjid Agung” to be blessed. After it has blessed, Gunungan then become a sacred thing that many people wants to get it. Because they belived that Gunungan has a supranatural power. That’s why sekaten is called a very religious and sacred ceremony.

Sewage Disposal Unit Saves the Earth’s Water?

Before the wastes can enter the river, they have to be purified first. In order to make them purified, they have to pass some processes that in fact are not really complicated. First, all disposed wastes are flowed through the main sewer to be collected in a tank called settling tank. In this settling tank, the wastes are left to evaporate—in the end there will be two separated materials, undecayed solids and polluted water. The undecayed solids are removed and then burned, while the polluted water is pumped and flows through the pump house to the last place, the sprinkler beds. In the sprinkler beds, the water is entering the first filtrating process, which is rotated by the rotating arms. This will produce some jets of polluted water. These jets of polluted water then will be filtered by stones and microorganism on the brick work. There the water is totally purified and is available to enter the river.

Acehnese Noodles

At the first sight, Acehnese noodles are looked like some ordinary noodles, yet when you look closer, they are not. Acehnese noodles are more slippery than fried noodles, but less than boiled ones. The soup is dense—it has the right combination of spices, eggs, and vegetables. On the first taste, you will find that the noodles themselves are soft—some people say that it is due to the soup, while some other say that it is due to the glutens of the flour they use. The soup itself is spicy and with the addition of boiled egg yolks, the soup is tasted very delicious.

Water Distribution in House

To tell the truth, water distribution in a house is very simple. First, the water from the mains is pumped, and then it flows through the pipes to all over the house plumbing; the sink, the toilet, the wash basin, the bath, and the water tank. The water which reaches these places is the cold one, therefore, to have some hot water, it needs to flow to the hot water tank first—here the cold water is heated. This water can be saved in the tank for future use or it will flow through the hot water pipe to the bath, the wash basin, and the sink for hot water usage.

How Water Reaches The House

How Water Reaches The House

Water reaches the houses in vary ways. Many years ago, people who lived in rural areas had to get their own water from rivers or from local wells, nowadays, there are more facilities of water supply. In many big cities, there are water-suppy systems to provide water to homes, even in rural areas. This is one of the source of water that we get everyday in our houses. Besides that, the water also come from either a ground-water source, or from a surface-water source such as lake, or reservoir. In common house, there is a separation between cold and hot water that can be used for many purposes.

There is a complicated process of water started from the source until the faucets. First, water from the ground passes the mains to go to the saving water. Second, it goes to cold water tank, which is located in the top of the house, when water collected in cold water tank the water will be processed in certain temperature and pressure to get ideal temperature and cleans the water from bacteria, microorganism and waste. After that, cold water will through the mains and distributed to bath, wash basin, toilet and also sink, because almost every water system in the house needs cold water, the use of cold water is more dominant than the hot water. For hot water process, after it takes to the mains, then it goes to the hot water tank. In this place, water from the ground will be processed, with certain temperature and pressure, after that, hot water is ready to be distributed over the house, such as bath, wash basin and also sink to be used for many purposed.

Clean Water System

The water that we use as a daily need in our house is apparently through a certain simple system. From the underground source, water pumped up to our house by mains. While some water directly distributed into cranes, sinks, toilets, and bath tubs in the house, some collected in a water tank which is put on a high place in a house. The collected water fungtion as a reserve allow the water system takes a rest for taking water from the underground.

Several houses need water as a cold and hot water. The water that straightly distributed into cranes is cold. to get the hot water, water in the tank channeled to the hot water tank and will be processed to distributed as hot water into cranes.

Sewage Disposal Unit

Waste water is not straightly flow to the water source, some purifying processes occur in the sewage disposal unit. The first step is channeling the polluted water through the main sewer into a settling tank. The solid pollutants are settled under the tank to be removed and burned.

The second step is pump up the water from settling tank by a pump house and the water jets on spinkler beds system with rotating arms for the third step. The jet of polluted water absorbed into the spinkle beds through the layers of brick work. At this progess, stones and micro-organism that still polluting the water are filtered. Under the sprinkler beds is main that allow the purified water entering the river.

Roti Bakar Bandung

'Roti Bakar Bandung' is one of the most popular foods from Bandung. 'Roti bakar' in english is toasted bread, and 'Bandung' is shows that the food is from Bandung. It doesn't like several toasted bread, 'Roti Bakar Bandung' bread's shape is a quite big block so you can enjoy it with your family. This kind of toasted bread is uniquely cooked after filled by jam, butter, or chocolate rice. You ca make your own combination fill for your bread. The way to cook the bread is unusual, it is cooked on a burned metal plate. It is cooked with butter, and that's make the brean smells so delicious. After toasted, the bread divide into some slices and 'Roti Bakar Bandung' is ready to enjoy.

Sewer Disposal Unit

At the sewer disposal unit there are three stages for cleaning the sewer. First, the polluted water is collected in a settling tank from the main sewer. The settling tank contains not only polluted water, but also undecayed solids from the polluted water that hardens that will be removed and burned. From the settling tank the polluted water is pumped through the pump house to the sprinkler beds. When it reaches the sprinkler beds, the polluted water is pumped to the rotating arms above the sprinkler beds which will be sprinkled to the sprinkler beds. The sprinkler beds is sealed with brick works so none of the water will get in or out of the sprinkler beds. When the water is sprinkled, it will go through the sprinkler beds which is filled with stones and micro-organisms that purifies the polluted water. Last, when the polluted water is purified it will proceed to the river.

The Processes of Sewage Disposal

Sewage is needed to be disposed and purified. These processes are quite complicated. There are three main processes; they are the settling process, the pumping process, and the filtering process. Sewages from houses and factories pass by sewers and reach main sewer. And then, the sewage is separated into polluted water and undecayed solids. These solids will be removed and burned. After that, the polluted water is pumped in pump house. This pumping is meant to channels polluted water to the sprinkler beds. In sprinkler beds, purification of polluted water is occurred. The polluted water is pumped to the top of sprinkler beds and passes by rotating arms that produces jets of polluted water. The jets infiltrate through layers that set up between brick work. This process makes the polluted water is filtered and purified from stones and microorganisms. After that, the purified water is flowed into river.
Sewage is needed to be disposed and purified. It is because every house produces sewage. If the sewage is not disposed and purified, it will accumulate. The accumulated sewage will make a problem. One of the problems is pollution of environment. Sewage is disposed and purified through three main parts; they are settling tank, pump house, and sprinkler beds.
First part is settling tank. In this part, sewage comes through the main sewer. All of the sewage is collected in the tank. The sewage will settle in this tank. The undecayed solids will get onto the base of the tank. And then, it will be removed and burned. This part produces polluted water.
The second part is pump house. Like its name, in this part, polluted water is pumped. The pump house is only used to force the water so it can go to the sprinkler beds.
The last part is sprinkler beds. In this part, the polluted water goes through a pipe. It is channeled to the rotating arms. The water will be scattered to the filter by the jets of polluted water. This filter will filtrate all of the stone and microorganism. After passing through this filter, the polluted water has become clean water. From this, the water can be channeled to the river.

Water Distribution in Houses

Some houses are using water pump to get water from the soil. Mostly, this water becomes the main source of water in those houses. This water is used mostly for washing, and taking baths. So, this cold water is distributed evenly through plumbing to baths, sinks, wash basins, and toilets. Water pumped from the soil is not only distributed to plumbing in the house, but it is also being preserved in a water tank. Since the water being pumped is cold, the water tank is called cold water tank. Then, to produce hot water, cold water in the cold water tank is distributed to the hot water tank to be processed. After the water is processed in the hot water tank, it can be distributed through the plumbing in the house as hot water.

EXTRACTING METHANES & DISPOSAL UNIT

EXTRACTING METHANES
At the first step, household waste kept in the warming bed. It will be extracted to be 2 materials, fertilizer and methane. Methane gas will distributed to the dirt trap through the pipe. In this trap, dregs content of the methane will be separated so methane will be distributed to the next holder without any waste content in it. Next, methane will come into the gas indicator <>. Bubbles will appear from the water as the indication that the gas flows. After that, methane will be distributed to the pressure release holder to decrease the pressure in order to avoid pipe broken. Then, methane will come into the gas holder and kept. In this holder, methane’s pressure will be increased by the weight above the holder. It is very useful because gas needs high pressure to come out through the tap. Final result, purified methane comes out through the tap, pushed by the pressure.

SEWAGE DISPOSAL UNITS
Sewage is water which is contents many waste and needs to be cleaned by the disposal units in order to avoid pollution. First step, sewage will be hold in the settling tank. In this tank, waste content of the sewage will be separated to be undecayed solids and will be removed then burned. Sewage without any solids will pumped into the pump house and distributed into the sprinkle beds. In this bed, sewage will be centrifugated by the rotating arms to produce the prime polluted water. Then, it kept in the jar of polluted water. Next, the water will be filtered by the bricks o separate the water from stones and many micro-organisms to produce the purified water. Finally, the purified water flows to the ending line entering rivers without any high water pollution risk.

Mesjid Raya Agung

Mesjid Raya Agung is the largest mosque in Pekanbaru or even in Riau. It is placed in the center of the town. Its area is wide and easy to be found. People often come here to pray and do the religious events.
About several years ago, its shape was not as big as it is. It was rebuilt and redesigned. Although the building wasn't completely finished yet, but it has been used to pray and it is wished to be the center of the moslem culture in South Asia.

Water System in Modern House

Most house's water system are directly fed from a municipal water system, which usually located under the road or street. Water, from the municipal water system, are brought to each houses by high-preassure pipes. Water, which has been flowed to the house, are stored in the house water tank. From this water tank, water are flowed by the mains to reach every taps in the house.

Water are distributed by the mains to every part of the house. Through pipes, which are installed in the wall and floor, water are flowed to each house's components. First, water are distributed to reach sink tap and other taps in the first floor. After that, water are pumped up again to the second floor. In the second floor, water are distributed to reach wash basin tap, toilet tap, and bath tap. Last but not least, water are flowed to the loft and stored in the cold water tank.

Many modern houses use two kinds of water, which is cold water and heated water. Because water from the municipal water system is unheated water, this water must be processed first. In order to get the heated water, cold water, which has been stored in the cold water tank, is flowed to the hot water tank. Processing system in the hot water tank makes cold water contains heat. After that, this heated water are distributed to reach every taps in the the first and the second floor.

Minangkabau Cuisine's Trademark

Rendang is a traditional Indonesian cuisine which made from beef (or occasionally chicken, mutton, water buffalo meat, or vegetables like jackfruit or cassava), slowly cooked in coconut milk and spices for several hours, until the meat coated in the spicy condiments. This slowly cooking process allows the meat to absorb all the spices and to become tender. The spices, which are cooked together with the meat, are turmeric leaf, golongal, ginger, lemon grass, and chillies.
Rendang is one of the charactersitic foods of the Minangkabau culinary. It has been the icon of Padang food. Therefore, Rendang is provided in every Padang restaurants. Almost every people which eat in Padang restaurant choose Rendang for their main dish. Rendang has been of the Indonesia people's favorite.

So if you’ve got a plan to visit this city, don’t forget to try this batagor.

Water Supply

The government provide our need of water through PAM (Perusahaan Air Minum). The water from all sources is been purified there. Then the pure water can be distributed through pipes to the houses. First of the water reaches the house it formed as the cold one. As we can see from the picture, the cold water from the mains can straightly distributed to the sink on the base floor besides its supplied to the upper floor. Then on the second floor, the pipe is affiliated into two direction. One into the cold water tank on the roof top; and the other one into the toilet, the wash basin, and the bath. To yield the hot water, the cold water from the tank has to distributed into the hot water tank at the second floor. Then it will be able to be supplied to the bath and the wash basin on the same floor as the hot water tank; and the sink on the base floor.

Sewage Disposal Unit

Here is the process of sewage disposal to the sprinkler in the field. First, the water from the main sewer is channeled to the settling tank. In the settling tank, the polluted water is separated from the undecayed solids. The undecayed solids settle in underside of settling tank. Then, the water (without undecayed solids) flow to the pump house. Afterwards, the water is pumped from pumped house to the sprinkler bed under the surface of the earth. The sprinkler bed is composed of pipeline and brick filled with stones and microorganisms. The water flows through pipeline to the surface of the earth. Along the pipeline, the water is filtered by stones and microorganisms. After that, the filtered water is spread to the field. Some of water is not spread, but flows to the river.

water distribution

The distribution of water which is used for household comes from underground. The water is distributed to the house by pipes and some of it is stored in the cold water tank, because the water from the ground still has a cold temperature. Some of the water is also distributed to the bath tub, wash basin, toilet, and also to the sink. Then the water from the cold tank is distributed to the hot tank where the water gets processed till it becomes hot water. After being processed, the water will get distributed to the bath tub, sink, and wash basin.

monumen nasional

'Monumen Nasional' which people usually call Monas is a unique monument in Jakarta. Monas is a monument which is very high and it is also a symetric monument. In the museum of this monument there are many historical things about the independence of Indonesia like photos of the days during the journey to independence and other historical things. There is also a room like an amphitheatre where inside it is kept a map of Indonesia, the flag of Indonesia, proclamation text, and other things related to the independence of Indonesia. The top of Monas is built from bronze and is covered by gold which looks like fire that symbolizes the journey of the people to the independence of Indonesia. Monas is one of the places where many tourists like to visit when they are in Jakarta, because people can see many things about Jakarta and also about the independence of Indonesia.

Water Distribution

Water that is used at home can be received from two kind of sources, PDAM or artesian well. Water is supplied to places in the house through pipes. Water that comes through the main pipes is distributed to several places in the house like sink, toilet, wash basin, and bath tub. Some of the water is placed in a tank called cold-water tank. Because the member of the house also needs hot water for several necessity, like taking a bath or washing, the water must be processed to become hot water. The way is by moving water from cold-water tank to hot-water tank through pipes to be processed. The heating process can be done in many methods, like using electricity or gas. The water from hot-water tank is then distributed to places in the house through pipes which need hot water like bath, wash basin, and sink.

Surabi

Surabi

is one of the traditional foods from my hometown, Bandung. Surabi is a traditional food made of the mixture of pulverizes rice, milk squeezed from coconut, and salt. The tool to make a surabi usually is a parabolic-shape made from clay. This tool is heated traditionally using a fireplace and coke. The way to make a surabi is very simple. Pulverizes rice, milk squeezed from coconut, and salt, which already well-mixed, heated on the fireplace until it’s cooked. Plain traditional surabi is usually enjoyed with kinca, a liquid made of red sugar and milk squeezed from coconut. Surabi also can be add with a topping named oncom, made of peanut, red pepper, and onion, to get the spicy taste.

Today, people make new variation with surabi, especially on the topping. The topping are now vary from cheese, strawberry jam, chocolate, egg, and chicken. This new variation of surabi is very popular, especially among adolescence. Making new variation of surabi is one of the ways to conserve surabi. With making new variation, surabi, as a traditional food, won’t be put at edge by modern food.

Extracting Methane From Waste

Extracting methane gas from household waste is relatively simple and could be done in any average home. The first step is to mix the waste with water and store it into the warming bed. In the warming bed the slurry part of the waste is taken and used as fertilizer, while the gas produced by the waste, called methane gas, is transferred into the dirt trap. Here, the cap under the dirt trap is opened periodically to release and separate the dirt from the cleaner methane gas. The cleaner gas is then piped to a water container or Gas Indicator Unit. When the gas indicator receives the methane gas, it then produces bubbles which indicate the purified methane gas is present and ready for storing. Before storing, part of the gas is piped in parallel to an opened water-container for gas release whenever the gas pressure gets too high in transition to the gas holder unit. Lastly, the methane gas then goes to the gas holder to be stored in the inner tubes, and is ready to use such as for cooking whenever tap is turned on.

Methane Process

Methane is a chemical compound with the molecular formula CH4. It is the simplest alkane, and the principal component of natural gas, about 97% by volume. It is a colorless, odorless gas (at normal temperature and pressure) and not a liquid nor solid. The major source of methane is extraction from geological deposits known as natural gas fields.. Apart from gas fields an alternative method of obtaining methane is via biogas generated by the fermentation of organic matter including manure, wastewater sludge, municipal solid waste, or any other biodegradable feedstock, under anaerobic conditions. Here is a process of producing methane from waste as it main source.

To have purified methane gas, we have to separate it from other components of waste. This process has several posts. At the first post, warming bed, the waste is heated to separate it with other heavy components of waste. While methane goes to next process, the other waste’ components can fertilize your plants as it passes few processes. Then, at the next post, the dirt trap, the remaining dirt is separated from the methane by sedimentation. The dirt stays in the dirt trap and the gas flows to the next cabin, gas indicator. Half part of this sealed cabin is fulfilled by water and other by air. After the methane gas is flowed into the water, there will be methane bubbles. Other gas will be trapped in the water. The methane bubbles goes up to the top of the cabin and continue its journey to the next post. In this post, cabin is fulfilled by water until the top of the cabin which is open to air. The flower pipe enters the cabin about 8 cm in depth. When the pressure is high, the excess gas will flow into the water in the cabin and then goes to the open air. After all those process, the purified methane gas is flowed into the gas holder. It is kept in tubes which are weightened to increase the gas’ pressure. The flower pipe ends with a tap.Whenever we need methane gas, just open the tap and the gas will come out.

The sewage disposal and purification processes

The sewage disposal and the sewage purification processes is quite complicated but it is easy to be understood if we follow the processes step by step. These processes consist of the settling phase, the pumping phase, and the filtering phase. First, the sewage from houses must gets through several sewerage pipes before reaching the main sewer. After reaching the main sewer, this sewage is passed to the settling tank. At the settling tank, this sewage is settled so that the polluted water (the liquid form of sewage) can be separated from undecayed solids (the solid form of sewage which will then be removed and burned). After that, the polluted water, the liquid form of sewage, will be pumped by the pump house. The pumping process is meant to transfer the polluted water from the settling tank to the sprinkler beds in which the purification phase occurs. After a while, the pumped polluted water reachs the top of the sprinkle beds, that pumped polluted water disperses when it meets the rotating arms. That dispersion produces jets of polluted water which head for the sprinkle beds’ layers that lay between two sides of thick brick work. Then, the jets of polluted water slowly infiltrate the layers, the layers act as filters which purify the polluted water from stones and microorganisms. The result of the purification is the purified water which will be flowed to the river as soon as it has been accumulated thoroughly.
