Yummy Gingerman Cookies and Books

Talking about things I like to do is a very hard thing to do, because I have many things that I like to do. In brief, I enjoy life. I like to do everything I have to do in life. From sleeping so soundly in my very own bed to sweating hard when I cheat during exams. However, two things I like to share here about my things-I-like-to-do, which I think shows the most of me, are making ginger-man cookies and reading books.

I like making ginger-man cookies. Although the pressure of mixing up the ingredients correctly is sometimes stressful, making ginger-man cookies are always been one of my happy moments. The best part of making ginger-man cookies is when you shape it like a shape of a man and then you garnish it with a kind of batter named icing. By garnishing it with colorful icing, you can express your creativity and have fun with it. The last thing about ginger-man cookies is it taste very delicious, it give you a warm sensation in your stomach, especially when the weather is cold.

Another fun thing I like to do is reading. It may sounds boring for some people, but for me, reading can throw away stressful feelings out of me. I can spend hours on reading, spend only a couple of days reading a 500 pages interesting novel. For that reason, I am an impulsive buyer when it comes to book. I can spend a lot of money on books without much consideration. I like almost any kind of book, except for those Indonesian teenlit series.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Metamorphosa of Bandung

I always consider Bandung as my hometown. There are so many reasons why I always consider Bandung as my hometown. I was born in Bandung and I have spent almost my entire life here in Bandung. I studied in Bandung, from elementary school to university. Although from about 4 years ago, my home has been part of Cimahi city instead of Bandung city because of the government policy, my thought about my hometown was never change a bit. Bandung will always be my hometown.

If I flashback to about 13 years ago, to the very first time I know about Bandung, there are so many differences between Bandung 13 years ago and Bandung now in year 2007. Life changes, people say, and so have my Bandung. Changes I am proud of but also changes I am disappoint.

Bandung 13 years ago has given me so many great memories. From the mist in the early morning when I rush to school to the trees that shaded almost every road and street. I always enjoy every single trip I have in Bandung. I rarely experience traffic jams because cars are not as much as today and the weather are incredibly cool even in the daytime.

However, Bandung today was a very different city from what I remembered 13 years ago. There is no longer mist in the early morning that I can enjoy and the government cut down trees for reasons I could never understand. Development on a large scale has sacrifices so many things I love about Bandung: the trees, the weather, the population, everything. Development attracts people from other country to migrate here and make the population grow in a rapid. I heard that Bandung was design to be a city with only 700.000–800.000 inhabitants, but now Bandung’s population has grown to about 2 million people. The traffic was suck, the weather makes me stress, and the crowd of people especially in weekend is not an enjoyable view at all.

I always hope there is something I can do for my beloved Bandung. I think that is one of the reasons I took City Planning as my major in college. Bandung’s development plan must be change or else Bandung will end up like Jakarta city and its entire problem. I do not want Bandung 5 or 10 years from now become even worse that it have been now.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Things that I love to do

I like reading. Reading has been my daily activity. Besides it can fulfill my interest and broaden my knowledge, it also can improve my English. I love to read the Tom Clancy's series, four-four-two, and the Reader Digest. Tom Clancy's novels are a kind of adventure novels that foretell about a secret agent who works alone to save the world from the danger of havoc. The Four-four-two is the soccer magazine which provides the reader with a lot of interesting stories about footballers' lifestyle and their career. Then,The Reader Digest is a magazine which conveys many useful information for the reader, the English that being used in the reader-digest is intelligible for any person.

The other thing that I like to do is watching films. I like to watch action-thriller film, such as Prison Break, it really pump up my adrenaline and entertain me.

I also like gathering around with my friends and joining their activities. I feel so much fun when playing and talking with them. In my point of view, friends are prerequisite and priceless. I feel warm and carefree when mingle with them. That's why I love to get near with my friends.

I like to have a siesta, too. I can refresh my mind and revoke my spirit with a siesta. But, it had been a long time since the last time I did that thing. Siesta has been something that I can't afford since I became a highschool student, it's all because the malignant homework that queeing for me.

Everyone has something that he/she like to do and he/she hate to do, but the feeling of refusal to do the things we hate must not be an excuse for us to abandon that things to be done.

Good work, thanks for posting.

It taste like Mocca

I like music very much. I always enjoy listening to it, as long it’s not hip hop anyway. While listening music, I can learn english at the same time. Somehow it helps me a lot. It’s very helpfull to practice my ability to hear, to read, and to spell words in english. To me, music has been so influential. That’s why I like music so much.

My pleasure to listening music is pointed by my pleasure to listening to so many bands with all different type of genre. Mocca is one of my favorite music band. It’s kind of swing-jazz band from my hometown, Bandung. The first time I heard their song (called Me and My Boyfriend), I didn’t like it too much. But when I heard the entire album, I just knew that I really love this band. Mocca have so many differences with another local bands. First of all, Mocca using english as their main lyrics (except for their song on Untuk Rena original movie soundtrack). And the other different things from Mocca is their live performances, which is always outstanding.

Music is like the big part of my life. I just can not imagine how would my world be if there’s no melodies and lyrics on it. Music help me through every mood I’ve been going. With music, I feel my life’s taste like Mocca. Sometimes it sweet but sometimes I can taste kind of bitter on it. And once again, music help me through all of it.

The Place I Love The Most

It is Bandung –my lovely hometown- where every place could be interesting to visit. If you got time to take holidays, I suggest you to spent your days here. There’s so many things you could do; shopping from the cheapest price to the expensive one, hunting the tasty foods (believe me here in Bandung, everything taste good), or if you don’t want to spent money you could just take a walk around Dago or Braga and enjoy the atmosphere.

Dago is one of the shopping spot in Bandung. There’s a lot of factory outlets here. And not far from the outlets you can take a lunch, dinner, or just try some snacks on food courts, cafes, or restaurants. Food’s also the reason why people came to Dago besides its factory outlets. You should try the road cafes that stand on the border line along the street. Mostly general on its menu, but sometimes you can get something you don’t on the other place.

After walking straight along the street and you go down Dago over Merdeka street, you will reach Braga. It’s a very popular street in Bandung. Here in Braga, you can find café and the old book-stores. I’m sure you will enjoy this street. I guess maybe this is one of the reasons why people called Bandung as Paris Van Java, because I can feel someplace that influence this street. Maybe Paris it is.

Anyway, Bandung is not only about Dago and Braga. I hope you can find the different sides of Bandung by visiting this city. When you find it, maybe you will love this city so much like I do. One last thing I want to remind you. That whoever you are, wherever you from, when you are about to get into this city please remember to always keep everything clean. Thank you.

Good work, thanks for posting.

The Joyful and Peaceful Pandeglang

My hometown is Pandeglang. A small town which really different with the place that
I'm living now, Bandung. Pandeglang is located in Banten Province. It is not so far from Serang, the capital city of Banten Province. Maybe Pandeglang is an unfamiliar name for some of you. So let you know about my hometown.

It is very joyful and peaceful live in Pandeglang. First, Pandeglang is a religious town with the atmosphere of Islam religion. No wonder it is like that, because many leader Moslem live there. But the solidarity among the follower of each religion in Pandeglang is high. We respect our belief each other. The second is the nature. Pandeglang has a beautiful nature. It is surrounded by three mounts. Karang Mount, Pulosari Mount, and Aseupan Mount. Pandeglang also has awesome beaches, like Carita Beach and Pasir putih Beach. Have you ever heard Natural Conservation Ujung Kulon, with its protected rhinoceroses? It is also located in Pandeglang. Because of that, many tourists both from domestic or foreign come to enjoy all of those. For information, in Banten province, Pandeglang is the district that gets economic income most from the tourism sector and agricultural sector. So, come and visit my hometown and you will know how joyful and peaceful Pandeglang is.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Sleeping and Vegetables

As human we need to spend our time for taking a rest after doing some activities in a day, and I think sleeping is the best way. It is known that the time which is recommended for sleeping in a day is about eight hours. But, I able to sleep over that time. I pretty like sleeping. For me, sleeping is not only to refresh the whole body. It is a must and being my hobby. I can sleep anytime and anywhere depend on my mood and situation. Many things can influence me to fall in sleep. I sleep when I’m bored and when I don’t know what I have to do or what I have to speak, like in the classroom. The weather also influences. Cold weather or a soft cool breeze is such a connector that brings me going sleep. I’m a type of person who really easy getting sleep and so much hardly to wake up afterward. I don’t know exactly why it works on me. But, while I’m sleeping, it feels like all my problems are gone and I can find my new world in my dream, whatever the dreams are. So, those are the best reasons why I like sleeping the most.

In contrast with something that I like is about an activity, something that I don’t like is a kind of food. I don’t like vegetables. My mother said, when I was child, it was no a big deal for me to eat vegetables. Until one day, I threw up when I was eating vegetable. So today, vegetables seem like horror for me. Its bitter taste is very unfriendly with my tongue. Although I know vegetables contain a lot of vitamins and minerals which useful for our body, but I think, I never want to eat vegetables until I able to forget my memory about threw up when eating vegetable.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Bandung

Having lived in Bandung for over fifteen years, I have discovered several changes in this city. Development in some areas and urbanization have transformed it into a metropolitan area. The urbanization has caused Bandung to become a high density populated city, have a hectic traffic system and high criminal level, so I have no doubt that Bandung has quite many similarities with Jakarta. Beside Jakarta, Bandung is an attractive destination for many people in Indonesia to seek for jobs to earn their living. Unfortunately some of them haven’t successfully got the jobs therefore it makes unemployment rate in Bandung higher and affect the criminal level to become higher as well.

High population makes Bandung need more space for the people to live in. That has influenced some people to exploit natural resources excessively, particularly in the conversions of protected upland area into highland villa and real estates. Those people didn’t realize that what they had done can cause bad impact for the city in the future, such as flood, soil-erosion, and landslide. Thus, we have to conserve the environment around us in order to make a better living for present and future.

Although the city has encountered many problems, Bandung however still has its charm to attract people to visit Bandung, either as weekend travelers or living in. In conclusion, Bandung still needs to be revised in several areas so we have to think from now how to solve the problems and develop this lovely city without exploiting the environment.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Tennis versus Basketball

The most interest things beside games in my life is sport. My body does not too good for sport, but i'd love to try all kind of sport, because I think every sport has its uniqueness and that’s make me curious.

I will discuss about one of my favourite sports here, it was tennis. I usually saw my father played tennis when I was still a little kid, he played very good and every single time he hit the ball, he impressed me very much. The big moment was when the first time in my life I holding the real racket on my 11th birthday, and then I keep in my mind that I will practice hard for this. I join the tennis club when I was still in elementary school, at that time I almost spend a whole week to play tennis, somehow I become addicted and want to practice more and more. I keep practice there until my age 14. I quitting because I need to be concentrate in my school. After signing out the tennis club, I played infrequently, I became used to it cause I had another goal, to become the student of SMAN 3 Bandung. Even if I was succeeded, I regret that I almost forgot how to play tennis on senior high school. But, I still played once or twice with my father, I realize that our performance were so much different, there was still a long way for me to be equal with him..

Right now in university I choose to play tennis again. I will practice like the old days, from beginning. But this time, I will improve my skill, performance, and stamina, until someday, I will play again to defeat my idol.. please wait a moment, dad..

Everything has a weakness, I mean that even if sport make me curious, there is one activity that I dislike, it is basketball. I think I prefer football to basketball due to its similarity on teamwork play. I play basketball once, but it is very hard for me to control the ball clearly, when I try to dribble again, it still not perfect, and then it made me bored in the end. I guess anyone can hate and like anything he want, he deserve it, like me, let me just be a basketball game audience.

Good work, thanks for posting.

There is No Other Place Such as Bandung

I am really enjoyed to live in Bandung. Bandung is my hometown since I was born here, Bandung also my parents hometown, this makes me know much about this city. I already lived in Bandung for 19 years until know, precisely last January. I don't know that much about Bandung though, but I will try to describe this beautiful city.

In some condition, Bandung is better than the other big cities in Indonesia. When we talk about it, first let we feel the air in Bandung, it was fresh and cool. This happen because Bandung is located in a high area that was far away from ocean, beside that Bandung itself is surrounded by a group of mountain nearby, let me tell you a secret, Bandung used to be a huge lake before its drown and turn into the fertile soil.

I guess we break the line too far, for the second prove, we can see that Bandung’s traffic are safe and rarely to get jam. Even though bikers and angkot driver usually scares the other driver with their disorder way of driving. Then, the other thing that can be most proud of Bandung is we can visit and see beautiful scenery of its natural resort, the resort itself is not located in Bandung exactly. They located on the mountain area near Bandung. We can see not only view of Bandung and Lembang from above, we can also see the gorgeous waterfall at Curug Cimahi, or a amazing huge lake at Situ Patengang and Situ Cileunca, or else the beautiful white crater at Ciwidai.

All of them are magnificent and somehow gives comfort and peace to our mind, body, and soul.. believe it or not, that is why there is no other place such as Bandung.

Good work, thanks for posting.

i love this i hate that

I love watching movie very much. I love this activity, because when I see a movie I feel there are a lot of things that I can get. For example, when I feel very confuse and bored with my study, I can entertain myself with watching movie and forget all my problem for that time. Watching movie gives me so many experience and lesson, especially movie that based on the true story. I love it very much.

I don’t know why, but I hate reading a book. I know by reading a book we can get a lot of knowledge. For me reading a book can make me bored and not entertain me at all. reading a book make me wanna to sleep and sometimes i always feel confuse if i don't understand what does the book means.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Pontianak, My sweet litlle town

I love this city very much. I have some reason for that statement. This city surrounded by rainfall tropical forest, it gives very fresh air , so people in pontianak can breath easily. Every morning and exactly in rush hours there is no traffic jam because of Pontianak have wide road. In pontianak there still live famous primitive tribe that name dayak. For me, dayaknesse very nice people and they are humble.

Pontianak lies in khatulistiwa line, so it makes the air in pontianak too hot in the morning and evening. but it is not a big problem, because we always get a fresh air and fortunately there’s no too many factory that can cause a pollution.

People in pontianak line in harmony and peacefully neighborhood. Their living by supporting each other. Eventough in 1998, there was terrible war happened among dayaknesse, maduranesse, and malay. For me it was very scared, when I saw a lot of people must die because of that war. But the war is over and people in pontianak feel happy because of that. I hope that terrible war never happen

Hate And Like

I love traveling and watching movie. Traveling can make me see another world from other perspectives. I can meet another people and feel their culture through traveling. Watching movie is similar to traveling. The difference is just the way we feel the journey. Both of them do make my eyes opened.

I also like to write both poet and story. I can share my ideas through poets and stories. Usually, I write poet to criticize myself and story to criticize another people.

Moreover, I love listening music, especially classical, orchestra, and pop. Music can both relax me and cheer me.

I also have many things to hate. I hate to get angry because anger wastes a lot of energy. It’s really exhausting. Another thing that I hated to do is waiting. I hate to wait because I am impatient.

In addition, I really hate to do something forcedly. No matter what the work, the result will be bad.

Good work, thanks for posting.

Jakarta, City of Glamour

Jakarta is the city of dream. It provides a glamour life. Life with high class apartments. LIfe with magnificent shopping centers. Life with luxurious clubs. Jakarta has everything that can make dream every people become true.
In fact, Jakarta is same as a coin, which has two sides. For the rich, Jakarta is the right place to fulfil their dream of glamour. but, for the poor, Jakarta is a place that makes their life worse. House is very expensive. So, they must live in slump area and unpermanent houses. Their lives are getting worse because there always be a big flood every five years in Jakarta.
Every Jakarta's citizens knows that living in Jakarta is not easy. Every people must "beat the bushes" just for a spoon of rice. A lot of people beat the bushes just for a sheet of money. For these people, living in Jakarta is only about struggle, struggle, and struggle.

MEDAN, Paradise of Food

Medan, my deeply loved hometown, is greatly known for the food. We can find various of food and surely great-tasted. There's no doubt that we can easily find many kinds of cuisine from so many countries around the world, such as Indonesian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Middle-East, Italian, American, etc. Therefor, Medan is also called as the paradise of food.

Some of the specially well-known sites for their food is Merdeka Walk & Kesawan Square. Both of them are located not far (arond 1 km) from Balai Kota, one of the most monumental architecture in North Sumatera. These food-courts provide us many kinds of food, such as Indonesian food, Italian food, Chinese & Japanese food, etc. One thing you should know about them is that they are only opened from 7 p.m to 1 a.m only.

The other sites that also well known for their delicious food are the food-court on Semarang street and the one on Selat Panjang street, but they only provide Chinese food. The location of these food-court won't cause us any trouble to find since every taxi driver know it perfectly. The best time to visit these places is about 8 0r 9 p.m because they are only opened from 7 p.m to 3 or 4 a.m. So, you should visit these 4 food-courts if you visited Medan. ( You do not need this sentence)

Thanks for posting, I am sure you understand topic sentence an unity of a paragraph.

Semarang -- A Unique Town in Architectural View

I would say that my hometown,Semarang, has very unique architectural sides in common. Semarang affected by several cultural assimilation ,due to the style pf the building. It mainly influenced by the dutch, china and native culture itslef ( Java).
Semarang divided into several area,in which the culture influenced them the most. There are three area that mostly have unique architectural sides. They are Kota lama, Pecinana, and Jatingaleh. In area called "Kota Lama" ,located downtown of Semarang, has colonial-dutch style of building. In other word, many building here referred into art deco style. Most of building here use pastel color, such as beige, creme, white and so on, which is being one of the charactersitic of art deco style. Another thing that simply admit the building into the art deco style is the simplicity of the shape, ornaments, coloumn and detail in building. Another sites ,which quite interesting instead of Kota lama is "Pecinan". All of the building here have oriental style. The building mostly colored in red. The ornaments, statue even the fench indicates that the building is very oriental. For the statue, they usually captured theis god/godess.Not quite different from the ornaments which sometimes the carving in those ornaments tell us the story about the god/godess too or something related into spirituality. They have unique fench. What's make them unique is the height of the fench, ornaments and sometime the decor their fench with somekind of offering, which could be the sign that the house is belong to chinese. The last area as fascinateing as those 2 above, is Jatingaleh, It has different atmosphere from other., It becasue the bulidng built around it is a native /traditional buidling. Which simply not affected by those 2 culture above. The building called joglo. The joglo located in front of the house, which makes the living home quite interesting. The function of joglo is for welcoming a guess. Besides of their function,Joglo has very gorgeus material used that should be concerned of.They made from Jati woods, which is the strongest kind of woods, and nowadays,it is very rare in Inodesia to find the woods. The woods created into the whole sequel overlapped construction that made Joglo very strong. Strong enough to beat the eartquake so there are no many damages occur. What makes Joglo able to "defeat" the earthquake is the floor construction, which made up into higher position from the ground( Different with another 2 bulding above). It allowed the shocking of the building while eartquake happens. The function of the "upgrading" floor is for shockbreaker compare to car.
In spite of three arear above, Semarang likely become unique in architectural sieds. therefore, Semarang is one of a heritage city in Indonesia ,well-knowed as unusual architectural view,in ech side if city. You can see Semarang in many faces due to its architectural sides.

I think you understand the idea of good paragraph, but you made so many mistakes. Have you done the exercises at http://www.lc.itb.ac.id/jati/e-learning ??

hometown

My Hometown Medan

Medan is a big city. I was not born in this city, but I grew up and did many things (what did you do?) there, so I love this city very much. This city has different faces at day and night. It has many city lamps all over the place, create the different faces at night. Almost in every street, various decorative city lamps share their light. There have been many place to visit and pleasure things to do. The climate is quite hot, but not as hot as Jakarta. But don’t worry, there are many parks in this city, make the temperature fells more comfortable. (your topic sentence is not clear enough)

Medan also has many entertaining places. Just for hanging out or refreshing your mind. First candidate, shopping centre. You may find Medan Mall, Deli Plaza, Sinar Plaza, Menara Plaza, Medan Plaza as the old ones. According to the government plan too make this city as a metropolic city, there have been built many more shopping centre. I can say The Sun Plaza foe the example. This shopping centre held its grand opening at year 2005. using the international standart, this place is also comfortable. Plaza Medan Fair is the other new building. This place is often used to held sport games and musical event, such as basketball competition, outdoor bands concert, etc. there still The Grand Palladium and also the-under-construction Cambridge.

Second ones is for the food hunter. To collect and manage the food providers, this city has several places, such as Merdeka Walk, Pagaruyung, Kesawan Square. The Merdeka Walk located at The Lapangan Merdeka. This place has just established. Not only for food, this place also provide interesting various shows to attract and entertain people and also ncluding live music with bands. The atmostphere is uniqe. It is outdoor and has uniqe design for each stand. The Kesawan Square occurs at Jalan Kesawan, it lays on the sidewalk of te Kesawan Street. Pagaruyung is at The Kampung Keling. (the topic sentence is not clear to me)

The third ones are food. Medan has many kinds of delicious food. This is one of the part of my hometown that I miss the most. You should try sate padang, rendang, kare ayam , siomay, bika ambon, lapis legit, etc.

Bika Ambon

For architectural study, the Medan city also provides ancient buildings. We may find it at many places, but most of it lays at Jalan Surabaya and around it. At the centre of the city, the ancient buildings used as the government office. Near the Lapangan Merdeka, we can also see the ancient post office. Others are Istana Maimun and The Masjid Raya. Most ancient buildings here were built by the Dutch.

Last but mot least, now we’ll talk about the citizens. Horas!!! Seemed to be the most well known greetings of te Medan society. Actually, the origin people of Medan is the Melayunese, but at present, there have been Bataknese all over the city. The word ‘horas’ is taken from the Batak language, means shalom. But don’t worry, Medan is not just about the Bataknese, there are many ethnics stay there. For me, this is one of the special things about Medan. People in this city come from various backround, but we can still neighbouring in quite and peace. Even we are different, we hate war. (your topic sentence is spoken language, so you have problem in developing your paragraph)

I may say Medan is a very interesting city to visit. If your hometown is not at the Sumatera, you should visit Medam sometimes. You would find interesting people and experience.

Model Paragraph

A paragraph is a group of related sentences that discuss one (and usually only one) main idea. A paragraph can be as short as one sentence or as long as ten sentences. The number of sentences is unimportant; however, the paragraph should be long enough to develop the main idea clearly.

A paragraph may stand by itself. In academic writing, you often write a paragraph to answer a test question such as the following: "Define management by objective, and give one example of it from the reading you have done for this class." A paragraph may also be one part of a longer piece of writing such as an essay or a book.

We mark a paragraph by indenting the first word about a half inch (five spaces on a typewriter or computer) from the left margin.

The following model contains all the elements of a good paragraph. Read it carefully two or three times.

Gold

Gold, a precious metal, is prized for two important characteristics. First of all, gold has a lustrous beauty that is resistant to corrosion. Therefore, it is suitable for jewelry, coins, and ornamental purposes. Gold never needs to be polished and will remain beautiful forever. For example, a Macedonian coin remains as uptarnished today as the day it was made 25 centuries ago. Another important characteristic of gold is its usefulness to industry and science. For many years, it has been used in hundreds of industrial applications, such as photography and dentistry. The most recent use of gold is in astronauts' suits. Astronauts wear gold-plated heat shields for protection when they go outside spaceships in space.ln conclusion, gold is treasured not only for its beauty but also for its utility.

TASK 2

Please write things that you like doing, or hate doing.
Do not forget to do the quizzes at www.lc.itb.ac.id/jati/e-learning if you have not done so.

Serang On The Move

Although Serang is capital of Banten, Serang is not a big town. Moreover, the biggest town in Banten is Tangerang. What makes Serang became the capital is it's location: It's in the center of Banten. Another reason is that Serang was the capital of Banten Kingdom.
I love Serang atmosphere: not really quiet and not really crowd. There is no huge shopping center in Serang, because the citizen prefer to go to the market. There are no theatre, discotique, and another nightlife spot. But Serang is full of office and education center - That's what make me proud of it. Serang education is well-known for it's feat. So, many Cilegon and Pandeglang citizen are working and studying in Serang.
What make me little bit ashamed about Serang is the people culture: indiscipline, corrupcy, nepothism, and collusion. These diseases is making Serang's development grow slowly. Unfortunatelly, its cannot be elliminated soon. It's need a long time healing.
In the fact, Serang is encountering a transition: from regency to city. This transition give it negative and positive effects. The negative is Serang will be crowded and face a cultural clash. And the positive is Serang will be more discipline and will have a good government with a good bureaucracy. Unfortunatelly, this transition is unstoppable and i just can do is hope that
Serang will be better: take the positives and throw the negatives.

it's jakarta

Jakarta is my hometown. I was born and raised in this city. Jakarta is a big city which is also the capital of Indonesia. There are so many buildings in Jakarta. In the center of Jakarta there is a national monument that is most known as Monas, there is also Istiqlal Mosque the biggest mosque in Jakarta, also a train station known as Stasiun Gambir. Most buildings in this area of Jakarta are government buildings and offices and this area of Jakarta is where most people work that's why every workday morning there is usually and almost always a traffic jam and this makes our body become tired because a lot of our time is wasted on the way and back from work or school. That's why now there is trans jakarta which is a kind of bus that really helps people get to work without getting caught in traffic. Not only to get to work, but some people also ride trans jakarta to go to other places that the bus stops at. This bus really helps Jakarta and the people because with it, traffic jams can be less than before.
If we see the south of Jakarta, most of the buildings are mall, plaza, houses, apartments, schools, and others. In this area of Jakarta, most of the buildings are shopping centers. There is Pondok Indah Mall or people say PIM (1 & 2 ), Plaza Senayan or PS, Senayan City, Cilandak Town Square, Blok M Plaza. To find souvenirs some people go to Pasaraya, but most people who come here are tourists. There is also an are, Kemang, here there are many cafe's which are usually used for birthday parties, in here there's also some boutiques and other shops. In this area there are also many tourists. For people especially teenagers usually go to Plaza Melawai, Pasar Blok M, ITC, and also distros. This area is the area where people go have a break from work. That's why usually there is a traffic jam on Saturdays. In the north of Jakarta there is Mangga Dua a shopping center, Mall Kelapa Gading (1,2, & 3), Dufan in Ancol where many families spend their holidays for refreshing.
If I describe every part of Jakarta it can be really long. Jakarta is a wonderful city. We can see many different areas. There are also many historical buildings which are nice to see and also many shopping centers for those who love to shop. It's fun being in Jakarta for many years although it's a hot ad sunny city, but it's a great place to live in.

Thanks for posting, you need to be focus on your target reader, and your writing is influenced by spoken language. Will discuss this matter in class.

Jogjakarta...what else?

Coming to Bandung, I have no such idea that it was this large city that I'm going to. It was when I compare the crowdedness. To think of it, Jogjakarta wasn't that kind of big city. Sure, it is a quit big city when you pick a bus and ride around it. But in Jogja, you'll fnd out that you can still easily find rice fields near the center of the city. Besides, Jogja isn't as hustle and bustle as Bandung is. It is less crowded in Jogja.
There are some difference between Bandung and Jogja. The biggest difference that I could found was the temperature. Jogja has never been as cool as Bandung. You'll get sweat everywhere. Even near a fan under the roof. In a sentence, you can simply say, Jogja Gerah, or Jogja is hot if you want to say it in english.
The second difference is the city's activity time. In Jogja, by 2300 hours, you can find a deserted main road ner shopping centers. In Bandung, even at 0200 hours, Braga still shines and sounds.
The third difference--I found it soon when I arrive--is the price. Lots of thing here actually spends almost double the money you needed in Jogja. Mostly food. Well, you can't reject the price if its about food. No food no living.

But even though its hotter in Jogja, even though its a calm city, even though earthquake and volcanoes still echoes in people's mind, I'd really love Jogja.
For some people, its the city of calmness. Tranquility may be easily found everywhere. Its partially fresh air and open fields yields a space for artist to create a masterpiece.
For the society, Jogjakarta was famous for the city of education and the city of art and culture. Though, these days, the title city of education doesn't really fit since the number of drugs user that is a student increases.

I'd really hope that Jogja stays the same everytime I return. Really, its such a selfish thought. But, aren't humans a selfish entity in the first place?

Jakarta

Jakarta is the heart of Indonesia. Jakarta is one of the hottest city in Indonesia. Every year, it attracts thousands of new residents looking for a new life, a big break, a second chance. Jakarta has developed into an international city. Many big brands, well known in the world, from Toyota, Toshiba, Siemens, Total, Schlumberger, and many more, continue to pour money into manufacturing, communication technology, business administration offices in and around Jakarta. All these companies say dynamism life as capital city still matter. The result is investment in Jakarta has grown faster than any other cities in Indonesia.
The x-commuters are triggering a building boom of vast proportions, one that is also unprecedented in Jakarta. X-commuters or extreme commuters are them who travel more than 90 minutes to work, one way. They are the fastest growing group of commuters. They are also an increasingly important economic force shaping everything from real-estate markets to fast food restaurants. Approximately, more than a million square meters of new living space has been built now. And more luxury communities have sprung up on the outskirts or at the center of the capital. That is why so many multi function building has been built, generally embrace apartment, office, shopping centre, like Senayan City, Mediteranian Apartment, Taman Anggrek Mall, Sudirman Place, etc.
Governor Sutiyoso has been aggressively marketing the city as trademark of Indonesia as a cultural country as well as international city. He has built bus way and monorail way that connect certain regions in this city. The bus way and monorail way are built to reduce traffic jam that occurs at certain time, particularly at work time. The sad of this developing city is the booming of urban population; which means more pollution. Air pollution is becoming unavoidable. Almost 70%, the inhabitants drive cars or ride motorcycle. So far, the government is still struggling to cope with it.

Bandung, Changing In..

I was born in Bandung, so I call it my hometown. I don’t really know about Bandung as well as people who live in there, because I used to move a lot town to town. But Bandung is so popular that almost everyone knows about it.
Bandung is a capital city of West Java province of Indonesia. It called Parijs van Java, because Bandung has many luxurious hotels, restaurants, cafes and European boutiques just like in Paris. You can see it in Braga Street. It also called Flower-City, because there were so many flowers in Bandung. Bandung was so green and so beautiful. It was, but not now. The weather becomes warmer (but many people from Jabotabek still say that Bandung is cold, colder than their place, I suggest), you can see many bunch of trash everywhere, and many buildings has been built (that makes Bandung doesn’t look like Paris anymore, which is so beautiful with its old style).

I think Bandung is full of creative people. Many of them make something they like by their own (indie). Such as music band, distro (young urban outfitters store), artistic building, café, many things. It is great, because the price is not too expensive (makes it differs from metropolis city) and fit many young people in Bandung. It makes Bandung always full on weekends. Many people come from outside of town to relax in Bandung, to shop in Factory Outlet (FO), distro, and mall. It is really annoying, because the traffic jam always happen, and it’s so crowded everywhere that makes citizen of Bandung too lazy to go out to downtown and enjoy their weekend.
Bandung is still developing. Many plans are still working on. I hope Bandung will not lose its marks, which are cold weather, green with the big trees every sidewalk, and the old style look. Thanks for posting, your writing so far is good.

My Lovely Pekanbaru

Pekanbaru is the capital of Riau Province. It is placed on the middle of Sumatera. It is about 600 kilometres square. The original ethnic of this province is Malay. But nowadays there are many other ethnics which have been settled at this town, such as Javanese, Minangnese, Bataknese, even Chinese. They all are mixed and become the inhabitant of this town.

Pekanbaru is the town where i was born. It is a nice and clean place. I spent all of my academics there so that i know a lot about it. First, let's talk about the favorite places where i often visited. As a youth, i often visited the fast food restaurants. One of the restaurants which i often visited is "Batagor Kang Uus". It is placed in the centre of the city on Ronggowarsito Street. Because of its strategic area and also its delicious menus, it is always full of costumers. That's why when i go back to Pekanbaru, i absolutely do not forget to visit it, especially to eat Batagor. Its Batagor is very delicious. The other restaurants and food courts which should be visited are "Mie Ayam Ronggo", "Bubur ayam Ronggo", "Es Rumput laut Prambanan", "Bakso&Miso Super", "Pis Burger", "Bakwan Sumatera", "Baung Restaurant", "Pondok Patin", and many other places that you can eat while hanging out. Second, the favorite places to hang out. There are many places which can be visited, such as Plaza Sukaramai, Ciputra Mall, Pekanbaru Mall, SKA Mall, Alam Mayang where you can do fishing and get relax, "Pasar Bawah" where you can buy something good but cheap, "Hoki 88" where you can play pool and bowling in a comfortable place, etc. Third, the academics. Just like in other cities, in Pekanbaru there are aso elementary school. high school, and university. The education in Pekanbaru can't be underestimated because there are many achievements that have been reached by the students of this town. For example, some students from my high school lately passed the international physic olympiad and had won two gold medals. It's very fantastic. One of the students of my highschool lately also became the best speaker in a debate competition in London. That's also fantastic. Although Pekanbaru is not a big city but it's potential is can be competed with other big cities. I'm very proud of my hometown.

Medan, City of Old Building

Medan, the third biggest city in Indonesia, is located in North Sumatera. Medan was built by Guru Patimpus. To memorize his good turn for this city, a statue was built for him. The statue is placed in a junction of Jl. Gatot Subroto and Jl. S. Parman. It is about 500 meters from DPRD or House of Representative building. The statue is a shape of his body. It is painted in white. He is wearing a stole on his shoulder. One of his hand holds a long stick and other points a way.

Some well known building was located in Medan. One of them is Istana Maimoon. it is a palace for one of the king in Medan, Sultan Deli. It was built by the Dutch who conquered there. Near form the palace, there is a mosque. The name of the Mosque is Mesjid Raya. It is about two hundred meters from the palace. These buildings ware built about hundred years ago. They were built as a bribe for the king so the Dutch could easily take anything from Medan. These buildings are the oldest building in Medan.

Another old buildings in Medan are post office, city hall, and Bank Indonesia. All of them are placed in Jl. Guru Patimpus. They were built by the Dutch. The building has a European style. It has many pillars and a European relief. The post office is in the junction of the street. There are many traders who sell stamps in front of the buildings. It makes the beauty of the building can’t be seen. Bank Indonesia is in front of the post office. It is a one storey building. Next to the bank, there is a city hall. The city hall was almost destroyed so in that area a shopping center could be built. Because of the demonstration of the civilian, the destruction was cancelled. The shopping center is being built in the back of the building now.

Jakarta, The Good and The Bad

Jakarta is like everything else in this world. It has not so good things but it also has good things. Even though Jakarta was flooded for almost a week last week, I am still proud to call Jakarta my hometown. Jakarta is basically my hometown because I was born and I’d spent almost fifteen years living in Jakarta. Because of that also, I can say that I have seen a lot of changes in Jakarta, new transportation system, new shopping malls, new TV station, just to name a few. Still, there is one thing that never changes, the busy traffic.

Jakarta is one of the most densely populated cities in the world and the number of population keeps on getting bigger. With dense population and lots of cars and motorcycle, Jakarta’s traffic is almost out of control. But, under the governance of governor Sutiyoso, Jakarta has developed its new transportation system and is developing a few more. It is hoped that the new transportation system could reduce traffic jams.

Well, to get out of the stress of getting old on the road or maybe just to have fun when you pay a visit to Jakarta, there is one place I can recommend you. Dunia Fantasi. It is an amusement park located in North Jakarta. The entrance ticket is not really expensive and sometimes there are free tickets given from certain hotels. Every time I went there, I could never get bored. The rides are really thrilling and it makes you just want to ride again and again. If you go with your family or friends, it will be more fun. Can you imagine how your dad’s face will look like when he rides a big roller coaster?

Lhokseumawe Talk..

The first time you hear the word “Lhokseumawe”, maybe you’ll wonder where, or even what it is. Lhokseumawe is a small size of a city, located in the province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam. It may be an unpopular city compared to Jakarta, Bandung, or even to Pontianak and Pekanbaru, and to some other cities in Indonesia. But once you come to this city, you’ll find it’s hard to forget, for it is quiet beautiful and also a very good place to settle in or even just to have a visit. It also doesn’t have the too-high pollution rate. You can calm your mind and get away from your stressful problems for a while by staying at this city.

There are some places you can visit while you’re at Lhokseumawe. The ‘Ujông Blang’ beach gives you the pleasant feelings every time you go to there. The ‘Rancung’ beach will also enjoy you with its beautiful scenery. Usually in these beaches, there are some small kiosks that sell fresh drinks and some kinds of light meals. A very good meal worth to try when you are in these beaches is “Rujak Aceh”. It’s just an ordinary rujak (a kind of fruit salad), but you’ll enjoy it very much.

Next, there is a ‘so-called-restaurant’ area not too far from the city’s central mosque. This area is divided into two—outdoor restaurants that are opened from afternoon to the night and indoor restaurants that are opened all day long, from the morning to the night. The outdoor restaurants usually sell meals that can satisfy your hungry stomach. Try the ‘Mie Aceh’ (Acehnese noodles), some fried rice, martabak telur (bread in omelet), or even just some chocolate-covered toast in a reasonable price and you’ll find your stomach is very full that you have to sit down for a while before you go back to walk.

The indoor restaurants that are common in Lhokseumawe are those like an ordinary, little café. Maybe old time peoples like to call it “warung kopi” (coffee shop). These coffee shops are very many that you can find it easily. It is due to the fact that the Acehnese men tend to drink coffee every morning. That’s the major cause that coffee shops are very popular in Lhokseumawe and rarely get desolated from costumers. But don’t get the wrong idea! These coffee shops do not only sell coffee, but also sell light to weight meals to company your coffee time.

At the center of the city, there is a big building called ‘Islamic Center’. It is very beautiful, with big domes and also big pillars. It is even a little bigger than the city’s central mosque. Then, there’s a new-built shopping area or mall called “Harun Square”. There was also a shopping area before in Lhokseumawe called ‘Cunda Plaza’, but it was burnt down during the time of Daerah Operasi Militer (DOM - Military Operation Area). This makes the ‘Harun Square’ was waited by many people in Lhokseumawe even when it was still only a construction. Now that this shopping area has been built, it becomes a good place to even just take a walk.

Well, that's just a glimpse about Lhokseumawe, a tiny city with huge wonder to see. Why don't you visit it, so that you can know its true beauty by yourself?

Medan, Between Modern And Conservative

Medan is my hometown and also one of the biggest cities in Indonesia. This city is located in the Sumatera island. As the capital city of North Sumatera province, Medan needs to keep develop in order to facilitate the needs of its people whose lifestyle has become more complex and more specialized. This made Mr.Abdillah as the major of Medan city always tries to build the city become a metropolitan city. There were many new constructions were built in the city in order to facilitate the citizens’ activities. Buildings likes plazas, apartments, or offices which have been constructed rapidly not only in its quantity and but also in its quality. The new plazas in Medan such as Sun Plaza, Grand Palladium, or Medan Fair Plaza have become an important activity place for the modern lifestyle citizens. These plazas provided luxury and comfort atmosphere rather than just a shopping center. These are the ways to prepare Medan into a metropolitan city.

In the other hand, there are also another faces of Medan city which are totally different from the modern city image. In the middle of the rapid progress of some new buildings, this city still have some historic areas which contain the historic building that tell us more about what happened in Medan in the past. Theses preservation buildings contain of houses, offices – some of them are still function as office until now -, bank, post office, etc. Most of them can be found in the kesawan streets and Balai Kota streets. Kesawan streets itself was known as the crowded merchant area during the end of 19th century. Nowadays, the buildings in this area still exist like the way it was in the past and it also still function as a merchant area. The sport equipment shops can be found along this street. Besides functioned as the merchant area, kesawan streets nowadays also functioned as a dining place in the night. There will many food stalls offer many kinds of food in the night. Here, people are having meal at the street and will be entertain by live bands or other performances. Besides that, people can also feel the romantic atmosphere while dining in the middle of the preservation building. It is supported by the lightning along the street which contribute much in creating this atmosphere. This attractive way for dining is favored by most of the people. That is why kesawan streets is one of the favorite dining place in Medan. I am so salute to the Medan’s government who have the idea to create such an conservative image

Moreover, this two different faces of Medan has already made this city became more attractive and more lively. Although there are still some troubles which are happening in this city, such as the insufficient electric supply or the hot weather, I am still proud to be Medan’s citizen. I am proud that I was borned and grow in this peaceful city. This situation is created by every citizen of this city which can keep the tolerance between themselves although they come from different ethnics and different religion. I believe this good image that has been created and has been kept by the citizen will attract more people to come and to enjoy Medan.

Hometown

Hometown, i've never realized that i don't know what the meaning really is. Does it mean a town where you stay, a town where your parent lives, or a town where your house and bed is. It's funny because what i really feel is that i don't have an exact town that i can call it a 'hometown' because i actually have two places where i can stay with my parents and stay for my studies, at Jakarta and Bandung.
Before I, or my parents, moved to Jakarta lived and had my middle school years in Bekasi (another home of mine) until I decided to continue on my high school education in Bandung. I moved to Bandung since the first grade of high school and i stayed at a boarding house since then. I was surprised when i found that i'm not the only one whose experiencing this kind of situation, there are really a lot of high school students like me at my former school who prefer to move to Bandung for their high school and lived at a boarding house. Why i chose Bandung to continue my highschool? It's the most frequent asked question that i've ever been asked. And for the answer is, i really don't know, i just want to experience something new, and my parents are fine with it.
When I reached the second grade of high school in Bandung my parents that stayed in Bekasi had an idea to move to Jakarta, they said that it is closer to my dad's office. Because when we were in Bekasi he had to spend three hours a day just to be in a vehicle to reach his office in Jakarta. Well I thought, that's fine by me. So the family gathered things to move to a new house in Jakarta, while i'm still staying at mi boarding house in Bandung. So at that time when holiday comes i'm no longer be coming back to Bekasi, but to a new house in Jakarta.
For the conclusion, if i will be asked where my hometown is, i would say Bandung and Jakarta. Bandung, because it's the town where i've bonded for almost four years for getting my education
and Jakarta, where my parents lives and where i have my holidays.
So, if i would say anything about Jakarta, i couldn't say much because i'm not really connected to that city. and if i would have anything to say about Bandung, what is my right, i'm just a visitor whose purpose is to get an education.

Uniquely Jakarta

Like most of capital cities in the world, Jakarta is a metropolitan city. If you can stand its pollution, and if you can afford to indulge in its charms, Jakarta is one of Indonesia's most exciting metropolises. It may not be the most beautiful, but it still has got its own attrative points. Walk the busy streets of Jakarta and you will find both vehicles and stalls, houses and shops, buildings and parks, museums and shopping centres stand close to each other almost everywhere.

For example: The National Monument, standing in Merdeka Sq, is an enormous marble column, topped with a gold-covered flame. It's meant to symbolise Indonesia's proud independence. Not far from there, there's a queit new and hip modern shopping centre, EX, which has a very attractive box-like shape buildings in different colours. This scheme is not unusual in Jakarta.

Back then before I went to study in Bandung, I used to have a Jakarta trip with my friends once we had a spare time or after exams. We both loved to go to places where we could see the old and new buildings Jakarta. But it's not all about the buildings. By walking through those places, we could meet up with different people in different ages and jobs. It's just the feeling that we caught often made us realized about many things in life, how we should be grateful in everyday living even with all the hard things that might come in our ways.

It's just one thing about Jakarta that I love the most. As my hometown, Jakarta sure has its plus and minus. But as long as we can see the good things, I hope we can survive to get through the bad. Have a good day, everyone!

Bekasi, What A Town!!

Academic Writing 08: HOME TOWN (task 1)

Bekasi

Bekasi, a quiet peaceful town, a bit near from east of Jakarta. A place where i lived, grew up, and earned educations and abilities for the sake of a bright future. A very meaningful place in my life but i don't think Bekasi is such an attractive town and i'm sure neither does everybody. From many sides, you would find easily negative points appear obviously while positive points rarely found.

Starting from little things such as dusts and garbages. Those two things are spread through out the town uncontrolled. Moreover, it is supported by hot weather makes Bekasi uncomfortable to stay. On the roads, city or even small roads, traffic jam is not more a weird disaster for human race lived there. It is more likely a fixed daily routine schedule. Well, simply, Bekasi is almost totally screwed up.

Fortunately, there is still a key to face the mess with comfort. In my own opinion, this key is the way to gain and see the positive points of Bekasi. And that sacred key is to enjoy every little thing you see, hear, feel and believe that all we have got is the best gift from The Most Merciful, Allah. Therefore, inspite of hating His giving, we should thank God and realize that we are far more enough than anybody below us. By doing that, all of inconvenience would be fun. Finally, that is how i describe Bekasi and being a happy person.

My Bandung

Bandung is my lovely hometown. It is the capital town in West Java, Indonesia. You must have heard that Bandung is called 'Parijs van Java', right? I think it is worth it,, because Bandung is really joyful. Every weekend Bandung will full of visitors from other cities. The visitors come to this city to enjoy Bandung both as a metropolis city and a beautiful city.

As a metropolis city, Bandung has so many Factory Outlets, which is provide fashion for you. It gives satisfy for fashionholics, are you one of them? You can also found some big shopping centers here. Just tell me where do you want to go. There is Bandung Supermall with the exclusive items and mini fun world (like mini Dufan), there is Cihampeas Walk if you want to feel-like-in-europe-shopping, there is also Istana Plaza with the ice skating area and a big food court, and so many other places. Sometimes i'll go to those places when i get bored with my routinity.

For me, Bandung is a beautiful city. Even Bandung is now likely industrial city, it still have some natural recreation objects to go. Do you know Tangkuban Perahu? It is a mountain that has a famous folktale, Sangkuriang Legend. You have to read it. It is not a very high mountain, so you can enjoy the great natural scenary with your family and friends there. I like the mountain so much. There is also Maribaya with its beautiful waterfall. There is not many view like this in other cities in West Java. The thing that i like so much in Bandung is the weather. At some location in Bandung the air is so fresh. There is where i can runaway from my bussiness at home or at my college. It is so refreshing, regain your fit. Have you ever try it?

bandung city

I've lived in Bandung for almost 5 years. Before that,,I lived in Jakarta. But,,I was born in Bandung honestly. So,,I can proudly say that I'm a Sundanese people. Since I moved here,,I've got into this wonderful city.

Bandung is the capital city of West Java. As a newcomer,,maybe I can't tell you a whole thing about Bandung. But,,you all guys know that Bandung is also called "Paris Van Java". Why? You know,,there's no doubt that Bandung has attracted many people with its beauty just like Paris. Bandung was a clean,,beatiful,,and peaceful city. But now,,you can see that Bandung has contaminated by many pollution since Factory Outlet was built in this city. Sometimes I feel so disturb wuth this crowd because it causes a disaster traffic jam. There's no peaceful anymore. There's not much big trees anymore. Bandung isn't clean anymore.

There's so many Factory Outlets here (you know,,Factory Outlet or we can also call it FO,,is a place that sell many kind of fashionable clothes). FO is so booming because they have good quality and cheap price. FO is one of the reason why many people visit this city on the weekend. Most of the visitors are from Jakarta. They like to spend their money to shop in Bandung. One of the most popular FO in Bandung is Rumah Mode which is located in JL.Setiabudi. Beside that,,you can find many FO too if you go to JL.Dago,,JL.Riau,,and JL.Setiabudi.

Bandung is also well-known with its foods. The food in Bandung is very delicious and the price as usual,,very cheap. If you live in Bandung,,your won't starve here. Because the foods won't be dissapointed. Kampung Daun,,Batagor Riri,,and Bakso Akung are some place that i recomend to you if you want to taste the touch of Bandung. But,,don't get surprise if you have to wait for a couple minutes if you go there,,especially on the weekend. There will be a long queue.

Well,,maybe my essay is not sattisfie your curiousity about Bandung. But,,there're my knowledge about Bandung city. Hope you enjoy it. Bye!

Pekanbaru

Rumbai is a small town and a head quarter of Chevron Oil Corporation where its employees work and live in harmony for the last forty years. It is located in Pekanbaru, the capital city of Riau Province, is roughly a half hour driving away from Pekanbaru. Since Pekanbaru is developing into a crowded business city, Rumbai becomes one of the quietest towns that people would like to find. It doesn’t mean that there are few people around there, but the town was planned and designed so well that it can organize all kinds of human activities without causing things like traffic jam, pollution, crime and such. So no matter how big an event could be held in Rumbai, there’s very little chance for a traffic jam to happen. When you enter the town, you feel like entering into a different country because it is so different from Pekanbaru. It is surprisingly very clean and well organized. I call it Little America.

Rumbai is also a camp that sticks on conservation practices so it protects the wilderness. It is surrounded by wild forests, and has houses on small hills. Every dozens of houses were placed separated by large forest. Some complexes are placed circling the golf courses. One can not cut any tree without securing first the approval of Chevron Top Manager in town. It is not that surprising if we may spot some group of monkeys having a party nearby the houses, or even a snake crossing the road in the middle of the day!

Rumbai has complete facility like any other big Corporation Camps. It has a playgroup, kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school. It also supplies basketball courts, tennis courts, a library, a swimming pool, and a Recreation Club to hold all sorts of event in that town with many food corners. Basically you can find and do anything there, except shopping in a big mall. It is obvious because if they built a mall in there, the town will be crowded because it’ll attract public citizens from Pekanbaru. Rumbai does not actually have a public access, you must have a pass to enter its tight security. But public citizens can put their identification in the front gate in case they cause mishaps in the location. Still, they choose people who can leave their identification, if they’re too suspicious they won’t let them in. The security there is so tight that it can cause traffic jam in the front gate (the only traffic jam that can happen and it’s outside Rumbai).

So remember, next time you want to go to Rumbai, make sure you don’t look too suspicious as a stranger. And make you sure you spot those monkeys and try the hamburger corner in Rumbai Recreation Center! Who knows, you may cross path with the elephants as well.
