Kacimuih or Kecimus is one of the local traditional delicacies of Minangkabau people in West Sumatra Province . While most traditional delicacies in Minangkabau taste spicy, Kecimus tastes sweet, piquant, and has a strong coconut flavor. No wonder it tastes like that because it is made of mashed sweet potatoes, brown sugar and coconut meat. It is often mixed with screw-pine leaves and a slight amount of salt. Other than that, kacimuih is served in a small plate and rain with threaded coconut milk, which makes the coconut flavor stronger. Sometimes it is added other sweeteners for taste preference such as cinnamon, vanilla or brown palm sugar.
